Gateway Sourcing is a recruiting and staffing company. Our client, a company in the construction and communications industry, is seeking a Lease Accounting Manager. The Lease Accounting Manager is responsible for lease accounting daily operations such as preparing and/or reviewing capital and operating leases, appropriate calculation of financial impact of leases in accordance with GAAP policies and ASC 842 pronouncement, ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties.
The successful candidate will be skilled with evaluating lease obligations and agreements; and connecting them with the financial statements to meet the ASC 842 requirements.
Education and/ or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 5-7 years of public/private accounting experience preferred
Experience with ASC 842 preferred and ability to bridge agreements with financial statements in accordance with the new guidance.
CPA Licensee preferred
Experience with Salesforce and Lease Accelerator experience, is a plus
Strong organization skills to provide organized and reliable data to support filings
Ability to communicate effectively within accounting and other departments

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, capable of prioritizing and executing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives and manage multiple priorities
Expected Responsibilities and Performance:
Lead and supervise the lease accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met
Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, data integrity and reconciliation
Team up with FP&A, large customer relations team and accounting management to develop relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics such as the monthly variance report, key financial metrics, and actual spend vs. budget/forecast
Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies and procedures
Demonstrate ability as a team player, capable of prioritizing and executing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to both technical and non-technical partners.
Review company records and general ledger accounts to properly accrue for lease accruals, holdover rent, early termination fees
Manage all third-party advisor relationships and related data requests
Collaborate with Legal to coordinate lease agreements renewals and review new agreements
Manage audits and special project through completion, as necessary
Assists with research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)
Research and responds to complex lease accounting issues related to financial reporting, accounting policies and procedures, and special transactions
Coordinate and develop relationships to foster relationships within accounting, large customer relations, and other departments
Design and implement process improvements benefiting quality and efficiency of lease reporting
