Job Description

A Safety Manager & a Safety Supervisor for long-term construction projects. Please see description and requirements below. 

Target Compensation: $35 to $45 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Project Safety Manager administers the safety program and serves as safety advisor, ensuring safety compliance by project team and all staff/workers working at the site

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Support all safety efforts on the project and promote safe culture

·         Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health

·         Ensure activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, etc.

·         Ensure contractors meet safety submittal requirements

·         Ensure project teams perform Safety net inspections per company policy

·         Administer safety Motivational programs

·         Provide safety training to project teams on safety requirements

·         Investigate all accidents and complete all paperwork required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or state regulations, and client

·         Maintain all safety related documentation

·         Supervise, coach, mentor other safety staff

·         Ensure subcontractors meet safety expectations

·         Coach project teams in effective hazard identification and correction of issues

·         Prepare safety work plans & documents

·         Conduct safety trainings

·         Maintain records of safety meetings

·         Prepare required reports and provide client with required information on a regular basis

The Safety Manager should have:

·         a minimum of 5 years of construction safety or construction safety related experience

·         Successfully completed the 30-hour OSHA course on Construction Safety and Health (29CFR 1926)

·         Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methods

·         Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies

·         Experience with identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective actions

·         Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite

·         Management, leadership and interpersonal skills

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

The Safety Supervisor should have:

·         a minimum of 2 years of construction safety or construction safety related experience

·         Successfully completed the 30-hour OSHA course on Construction Safety and Health (29CFR 1926)

·         Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methods

·         Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies

·         Experience with identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective actions

·         Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite

·         Management, leadership and interpersonal skills

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills
