Job Description

REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION MANAGER


 Location:       Rockford, IL. 

Reports To:   Logistics Manager, FRAG Distribution Operations  

Supervises:  Regional Distribution Center in Rockford, IL.      

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

Responsible for all administrative/warehousing activities including staffing, safety compliance, inventory control, customer satisfaction, budget development, and productivity improvements. This role also provides the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the distribution operations and facilitates supervision in accomplishing department and company goals through the use of effective employee relations and Lean distribution techniques.

RESPONSIBIILITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Employee leadership, development, and administration. Select, onboard, train, and develop team members.

Overall responsibility for receiving, storage and shipment of raw materials and/or finished goods and inventory control. This includes parts and whole goods.

Develops and recommends improvements in current office and warehouse along with organizing prioritizes and assigns daily work flow

Provides Supervisor/Lead personnel with overall direction to ensure the quality control, productivity standards and compliance with established procedures

Annual budgeting forecasts for payroll and operations

Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orientation, training of new employees

Interprets and administers company policy and procedures

Foster a positive work environment through employee motivation and discipline as needed

Ensure company required performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis

Maintain compliance of company safety standards long with federal, state and local safety regulations

Monitors status of balances and cycle counts

Ability to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships with subordinates, peers, and management personnel.

Establishes measures to ensure accuracy of warehouse transfers, incoming and outbound freight

Daily monitoring of hazardous material requirements where applicable

Ensure prompt delivery and receipt of goods for suppliers and customers

Oversee the overall responsibility of the warehouse facilities. Maximize layout of facility ensuring organizational efficiency

Constant emphasis on reduction of errors per line and increasing lines per man-hour

Maintain adequate levels of necessary supplies

Accurate maintenance of reports and records

Maintain accurate cycle counts and inventory accuracy levels

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Materials Management or related field. Five to seven years related experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to verbally communicate with employees and management staff in all areas of the facility

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic math calculations in addition to algebraic and geometric calculations

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to balance production needs and make critical decisions regarding machine/equipment downtime in absence of supervisor

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Basic command of computer skills, Microsoft office and Excel. Knowledge of warehousing operations, strong verbal and written communications.
