 Quick Lane Technician

SCHEDULE: 
Quick Lane Technicians must be available to work from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with a 3-week rotation. Quick Lane Technicians will receive two days off a week.  This position is not exempt from overtime and paid based on their hours flagged.

SUMMARY:  
Quick Lane Technicians are responsible for performing basic maintenance and simple repairs on customer vehicles.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Performs maintenance on customer vehicles
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil
  • Replace oil and air filters
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary
  • Check tire pressure 
  • Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants
  • Rotate and balance tires
  • Document all work performed on the repair order
  • Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals—returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to Manager
  • Keep shop area neat and clean
  • Recommend additional services and other needed repairs
  • Maintains knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Participate in training programs as assigned by the Service Manager
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean—notify a service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience
Automotive experience required
1 year of experience preferred

Education / Certifications
High School Diploma or GED, required

Certifications / Licensures
Valid Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy

Skills & Abilities
Able to operate all types of motor vehicles, including manual transmission
General automotive knowledge
Efficient keyboarding skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Ability to resolve problems 
Active listening skills
Flexible to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Constant standing
Frequent operation of motor vehicle
Very frequent moderate lifting (15-50 lbs)
Frequent moderate pushing or pulling (15-50 lbs)
Occasional climbing stairs
Very frequent bending, squatting, and reaching
Constant use of hand dexterity and hand eye coordination 
Constant seeing and hearing
Very frequent working as part of a group
Constant loud noise, fumes, and odors
Occasional outdoor work environment (including wet conditions and variation in temperature)
