Job Description

Health Care Assistant

MSU HealthTeam

At-will position (float pool)

29- 40 hours/ week

Job Summary:

MSU HealthTeam searching for front and back office certified clinical medical assistants to work in primary care, specialty, and sub-specialty clinics. Daly job duties include, but are not limited to: greet patients; answer phone and take messages; prepare exam rooms; schedule appointments and register patients; prepare charts through EHR; verify insurance and obtain authorizations; schedule and coordinate tests; retrieve and distribute results to physicians; complete and verify forms; maintain general filing system; prepare supplies and clean examination rooms; order supplies; record patient history; take chief complaints; take vital signs; perform and assist with procedures, examinations and treatments.


Required Qualifications:

Must be a certified medical assistant with current certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA), which must be maintained for the duration of employment. Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office setting or in a clinical setting performing routine health assessment tests and obtaining vital signs; experience with electronic health record systems and patient scheduling systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
