Job Description

U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan has openings for:

U.S. Probation Administrative Assistant    
This position is located in the Probation Department in Detroit, Michigan, reporting directly to the Chief U.S. Probation Officer. The employee performs administrative support services for the Chief Probation Officer, the Executive Management Team and the Management Team.

Work is performed in an office setting and may occur at off-site meeting locations. Set up/clean up of Court functions may involve light lifting and the use of cleaning supplies. Occasional travel within the District may be required. Some travel outside the District may be required. The work may require occasional contact with persons who have violent backgrounds. These contacts are in the controlled office setting.

AND  

Pretrial Services Intake Coordinator  
This position is located in the Pretrial Services Office in Detroit, MI, reporting directly to the Administrative Supervisor. The employee provides specialized technical and administrative support to pretrial services officers in a wide range of areas, including assisting with conducting investigations, compiling criminal histories, statistical data entry, case file monitoring, archiving, and intake responsibilities.

The work is generally performed in an office setting and may require light to moderate lifting. Work requires regular contact with persons who may have violent backgrounds. Occasional travel within the district may be required.
