Job Description

  1. Home, off-site, or office visits as needed to provide case management, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals to families experiencing domestic violence.

  2. Provide  advocacy services to families and assume responsibility for motivating families and employing motivation enhancement strategies.

  3. Assist with providing a supportive array of interventions including strengthening the parent/child relationship, parent education and skill building, trauma screening, and service linkages.

  4. Assist families with eliminating barriers to service access 

  5. Conduct/attend regularly scheduled case reviews with CT Department of Children and Families

  6. Work as part of a team

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and at least two years experience working with families. Understanding of issues related to trauma, child abuse prevention and treatment, family violence, and systems advocacy preferred. Experience with case management and ability to work with diverse individuals. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with professionals and paraprofessionals as part of a team.

Must have comfort in making home visits. Must have own car, a CT Driver's License in good standing  and required auto insurance.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to provide convenient meeting time for families
