Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opening for a Human Resources Generalist supporting our plants in Janesville, WI and Denver, CO.

The Human Resources Generalist will ensure high-quality standards for all human resources activities, initiatives, and tasks within designated areas of responsibility, adhering to all service level agreements established by the HR organization.

The Human Resources Generalist manages the people management-related agenda at the internal client. The generalist manages change management projects and manages the HR related internal and external communication. The generalist does not act as the HR Consultant; the partner shares the responsibility for the goals and targets delivery.

The Human Resources Generalist will provide salaried recruiting support to include sourcing candidates, responding to applicants, prescreening of candidates, resume screening, scheduling interviews, phone interviewing, social media marketing, applicant tracking system management, and community outreach. The incumbent in this role will be groomed for a promotion to HR Business Partner within 2-3 years. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Acts as a single point of the contact for the employees and managers in the business units in WI and Denver, CO

  2. Proactively supports the delivery of HR Processes at the client’s side

  3. Manages complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally

  4. Builds a strong business relationship with the internal client

  5. Successfully administer key components of Morgan’s onboarding process in support of high-volume hiring initiatives, ensuring a fulfilling new hire experience

  6. Respond to questions on administrative HR procedures and practices via multiple channels within our HR Shared Services center (e.g. e-mail, phone, and case management system). Answer HR policy-related questions, provide guidance to both managers and team members, and escalate as appropriate

  7. Educate clients of services available to them and encourage self-service tools such as Dayforce (Morgan’s HRIS) and other systems

  8. Educate critical HR initiatives to deliver best-in-class employee services

  9. Utilize Dayforce to process specific team member-related transactions, in addition to auditing work performed by other members of the team

  10. Creates job postings and places ads/postings

  11. Schedules and attends job/career fairs with appropriate staff as a source to generate qualified applicants

  12. Provides information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants

  13. Schedules and participates in interviews for applicants

  14. Conducts reference and background checks

  15. Corresponds with job applicants to notify them of opportunities

  16. Maintains records on recruiting activities as required

  17. Maintains the social media recruitment strategy, which is aligned with marketing and HR communication

  18. Creates organizational announcements

  19. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EXPERTISE REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Critical knowledge and competencies required:

  • Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. This includes the ability to speak and write clearly to deliver client service excellence – over the phone, through e-mail, or in all other interactions.

  • Ability to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments, consistently delivering results within required timelines and expectations.

  • Build strong client focus, delivering solutions with our organization in mind.

  • Work collaboratively with others, creating partnerships with management, colleagues, and the rest of the human resources function.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously, while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Treat highly confidential information with the utmost integrity.  

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or minimum of 10 years related experience

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience, to include:  Performance management and employee relations; employee engagement; investigations, including harassment, safety, and other workplace issues; and preparing documents for HR-related legal issues

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, various Social Media

  • Experience and ability to use HRIS and ATS platforms

  • Solid understanding of HR policies and procedures

  • Strong understanding of succession planning

  • Must be able and willing to do administrative tasks as needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field

  • Prior experience coordinating HR-related programs and activities

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification

  • Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) or related organizational membership.

Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Also, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
