Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

 

Manages and provides support in stabilizing, standardizing, simplifying and sustaining Process Excellence and Project Management principles throughout Trinity Home Health Services. Actively leads and mentors all levels of staff within THHS to identify and implement solutions to improve the patient care experience, achieve regulatory goals, and improve all operational metrics such as:  patient safety, quality, cycle time, rework, financial stewardship, project management deliverables and employee satisfaction.  Provides seasoned and expert guidance to the leaders of THHS, Trinity Health System Office, Regional Health Ministries (RHMs) and Health Networks in the overall strategy, understanding, and deployment of Process Excellence and Project Management principles and methodologies. Fosters and supports ongoing learning and collaboration of the team to develop the internal muscle within RHMs and Health Networks to redesign care processes so they are cohesively connected.  Develops, trains and mentors the team on process improvement methodologies with a heavy focus on Lean, Change Acceleration, Rapid Process Improvement, Six Sigma and Project Management Book of Knowledge.

Job Requirements

  1. Must possess thorough knowledge of healthcare operations, financial analysis, and organizational development as usually obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Health Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s Degree in related field preferred. 

  2. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of previous experience in driving lean transformational efforts that have resulted in sustained, on-going process improvement, project management and culture change.  Clinical improvement related work experience highly desirable.

  3. Strong influencing, collaboration and partnering skills with the credibility to lead change and develop productive working partnerships with leaders, managers and staff.

  4. Strong organizational, project planning and project management skills including the ability to define project scope, process, objectives, priorities and timelines, understand stakeholders and their interests, determine resources needed, execute projects, and provide consultation and advice. 

  5. A true believer in nurturing teamwork, developing others through mentoring and coaching.

  6. Leadership experience overseeing progressively complex projects and interfacing with executive leaders. 

  7. Deep and thorough understanding of process improvement and project management concepts, processes and methodologies  including the Lean management system, Lean philosophy and tools, and the ability to develop and train others in these concepts, processes and methodologies. Must be able to perform hands-on facilitation and be involved in project planning and execution.

  8. Demonstrated proficiency and expertise to identify and articulate process improvement and project management opportunities and provide authoritative consultation. 

  9. Strong communication, organizational, negotiation and leadership skills with the ability to facilitate communications between diverse groups and effectively influence and present advisory consultation. 
     

  10. Well-developed analytical, problem solving, project management, and process redesign skills. 

  11. Prior experience and knowledge of healthcare information technology functionality is desired.

  12. Understanding of the unique culture of health care is desirable for quick assimilation.

  13. Proficient in the use of computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Access and PowerPoint.

  14. Willingness to perform in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  15. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
