Operations Manager- Health Care 

Job Summary: The Operations Manager will manage the Patient Research department in the Miami office. This position manages a dedicated team of employees and critical front-line processes in a fast paced environment.  The Patient Research Manager will train employees, and work closely with them to ensure they become successful within our organization.

Position reports to:
  Director, Patient Research


• Assure timely and accurate adjudication of invoices
• Preparing in-depth analyses of payer and denial trends as well as other trending and anomalies related to a medical billing environment.  
• Conduct proactive analysis of collection performance and analyze root causes for variance 
• Scheduling daily tasks for patient research staff
• Monitoring patient research workflows and account queues
• Audits methods and procedures of patient research  functions to improve efficiency
• Working with insurance companies and our clearing house in order to maximize results
• Monitoring staff production, quality and attendance using Business Objects and DayForce
• Approving employee time cards biweekly
• Identifying and recruiting new talent
• Assisting staff with questions and issues
• Handling HR related issues
• Leading planning/implementation of new initiatives for both new hire training, recurrent training 
• Actively manage the Quality and Training program for the Patient Research team. 
• Monthly employee evaluations and quarterly bonus recommendations
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain an effective organization
• PR Manager will be required to manage a staff of 30 employees
• Promptly answers support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
• Motivated self-starter, able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines;
• Compliance with Intermedix  policies
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


Four years of previous management experience (experience managing a team of 10+ individuals)
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university with a degree in Business, Accounting, Health Information, Healthcare Administration
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

Skills/ Knowledge Requirements:
• Highly effective written & verbal communication skills
• Technologically proficient with prior training experience
• Proficient in Internet related applications
Motivated self-starter, able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
• Ability to organize work and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving skills
• The ability to read, speak and write in the English language in a clear and concise manner
• Health insurance billing knowledge preferred
• Intermediate level with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
• Familiarity with statistical analysis / data science preferred;
• Microsoft Access and Business Objects knowledge preferred
• Type 45+ WPM
