Job Description

Plant Automation & Controls Engineer

Automotive parts manufacturer in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, offering highly competitive compensation and benefits packages, plus plenty of career growth potential.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of automation systems for manufacturing, assembly, and plastic molding processes through PLC, HMI, robotics, and other instrumentation and controls
  • PLC and robotics programming (experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Omron, and C++ preferred)
  • Networking and communications of systems
  • Control panel, schematics and wiring diagram design
  • Troubleshooting, optimization, installation, testing, and start-up of systems
  • Establish SOPs and processes

Job Requirements

  • BSEE or other similar 4 year technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Automation & Controls Engineering
  • Prefer experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Omron and C++ programming
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE or other CAD software for panel, schematics, and wiring diagram design
  • Networking and communications experience
  • Installation, testing and start-up experience
