Title: Industrial Engineer (17-00569)

Location: Pontiac, MI
Pay Rate: $20-$25/hr.
Additional Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), company paid holidays and more!
Type of hire: Contract
Shift: Dayshift. 7am to 6pm.
*7:00 AM start time is firm, departure time is more flexible. Candidates must work an 8 hour shift M-F.

Managers Specifications:
• The Industrial Engineer evaluates testing conditions and processes (at both the component level and propulsion system level) and provides solutions to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost. Industrial Engineering role is conducted in a multi-shift propulsion test laboratory involving multiple functions (test engineers, team leaders and members).

Position Responsibility:
• This worker will be expected to and evaluated on ways to improve processes
• Some process improvements should be quick and some should be long,
• Recommend process improvement, helping to implement it,
• This candidate will be responsible for demonstrating data follow up
• Conception to completion
• Assists in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement techniques
• Analyzes existing operations and proposes cost justified improvements
• Optimizes use of floorspace, materials, personnel and equipment
• Assists in planning new facilities, operations and/or relocation of same
• Provides information for various management systems
• Regular contact with others outside the work group
• Monitors adherence to recommended safety procedures and good housekeeping

Job Requirements

Position Requirements
• 4-year Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering is required
• Exceptional communication skills
• Efficiency analysis experience
• Professionalism
• 2-5 years of experience fulfilling an Industrial Engineer or Quality Engineer role with demonstrated efficiency improvements
• Microsoft suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) HIGH proficiency in MS Excel
• Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate level
• Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Intermediate level
• Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
• Good written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
• Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
• Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues
• Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
• Basic knowledge of work measurement and work standards
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Familiarity with ergonomic requirements of work station design
• Ability to conduct line balancing activities – 1-3 years experience
• Ability to coordinate system simulations and design process buff - 1-3 years experience
• Position related experience - 3 years
