Job Description

FULL-TIME BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTANT 

Responsibilities include cash and petty cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger entries, inventory control, payroll/human resources, sales tax, month end and year end close of businesses for tax preparation. Need to have a strong understanding of accrual based tax accounting. 


Responsibilitites 

DAILY: 
• Prepare bank deposit tickets, post daily sales 
• Take deposits to the bank 
• Manage cash flow 
• Oversee petty cash account 
• Review and assist employees in completing hiring documents, time clock adjustments and withholding/401K changes 
• Import of daily sales to QuickBooks 
• Enter payments for customers house charge accounts in Accounts Receivable 
• Enter and pay invoices in Accounts Payable 
• Enter in journal entries as needed 
• Assist customers and vendors with questions/emails regarding charges and balances 
• Review and reconcile monthly credit card charge statement 
• Bank reconciliation 
• Answer te lephones and assist customers for two separate companies 
• Filing 


WEEKLY: 
• Prepare weekly sales reports 
• Review employee time sheets for payroll entry 
• Preparation and filing of monthly sales tax return for (2) clients
• Month end close out of accounting systems 
• Setup and changes to sales/products accounts in accounting systems as needed 
• Month end preparation of financial statements including excel worksheets 


MONTHLY: 
• Preparation and filing of monthly sales tax return for (2) clients
• Month end close out of accounting systems 
• Setup and changes to sales/products accounts in accounting systems as needed 
• Month end preparation of financial statements including excel worksheets 


YEAR END: 
• Year end preparation of financial statements including excel worksheets 
• Assist with year end preparation of compilation financial statement 
• Preparation of yearly property tax return 
• Preparation of 1099-Misc forms including gathering W-9 forms and Certificates of Insurance from vendors 
• Review of employee' s hours for vacation time, benefits and 401k eligibility 
• Year end filing of sales/payables files, setup files for new year 

Job Requirements


REQUIRMENTS

5+ years in a Bookkeeping role
AA preferred
QuickBooks Accounting experience
Microsoft Office experience
