Shriners Hospitals for Children – Houston, located in the heart of the prominent Texas Medical Center, has an immediate opening for a Per Diem (PRN) Social Worker to join its Care Coordination team.

The Social Worker is responsible for working effectively with other health care members to provide Care Coordination of the patient and family from the implementation of the intake process to discharge from the Shriners Hospital system. Knowledge and skill in the case management process is pertinent. Active networking is required with community agencies, physicians, schools, etc. to help develop medical, financial and psychosocial resources for our patients and families. The Social Worker provides psychosocial support, crisis intervention and psychotherapy for our patients and families.
Required Education: MSW, accredited school of social work
Required License/Certification: Current licensed LMSW in state of Texas, LCSW preferred. Case management certification.
Training and Experience: One to three years experience, preferably working with children with a disability.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong theoretical background in child development, family dynamics, issues pertaining to grief & loss, and case management is preferred.
***Fluent in English & Spanish Preferred.
