Job Description

Currently working with one of the most prominent nonprofit organizations in New York City that is focuses on helping individuals with health and mental disabilities. They are seeking a Controller to join their accounting team. The Controller will be focused on Revenue Cycle Management, managing staff and revenue cycle functions related to contracts, grants and fee-for-service billing.

Responsibilities of a Controller:

  • Controller will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the staff who will be focusing on functions include billing, managing and collecting on accounts receivable, cash position, cash posting/journal entries

  • Prepare monthly AR schedule for the CFO.

  • Prepare other revenue related schedule for internal and external stakeholder.

  • Provides day to day management of staff performing revenue cycle related functions.

Job Requirements

Qualifications of the  Controller:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA is a plus

  • 5+ years experience at a nonprofit; 3+ years in management position for revenue cycle

  • Strong experience with healthcare provider billing background. Third party payor billing experience with payors nationally.

  • Experience with government contract billing (DHS, OPWDD, DOHMH, HRA, OMH, etc.)

  • Strong Excel experience, accounting billing software such as EHR
