Marine Technician

NES is a Global Staffing provider to the Power Generation industry. We are currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Marine Technician for a full-time direct hire position.

Marine Technicians Responsibilities

• Provide preventative maintenance and repair services at service centers and/or customer accounts in accordance with established procedures and techniques, using proper tools, test equipment, and replacement parts
• Repairs and overhauls product
• Establish and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Assist region to achieve revenue goals as it relates to the sale of company products and services
• Participate and complete all required training programs, meetings, and seminars
• Engage in self-appraisal and continuous learning and development
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the job
• Some shift work may be required
• Performs on-call duties and responsibilities as required of all field service technicians
• Performs other duties as assigned

Marine Technicians Requirements/ Certificates

• Minimum of four (4) years Marine experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work extended hours or outside assigned territory as needed
• Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed on short notice and up to 80% of the time.
• Must have experience dealing with customers in difficult situations, good phone etiquette, and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Must have knowledge of marine diesel engines and generators
• Strong technical/mechanical skills and experience required
• Must be able to read, write and understand service instructions
• Must have at least intermediate knowledge of MTU, DDC, 2-stroke, and/or Northern Lights Marine products
• Prefer knowledge in electronics and advanced troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Volvo marine engines a plus
