Job Description

Human Resource Generalist

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment





Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Direct back-up and support to HR Manager

  • Conducts new employee Onboarding to ensure employees gain an understanding of company policies and procedures

  • Leads recruiting efforts, screening, interviewing candidates, offers, and administering the related AAP process.

  • Administers new hire paperwork, ensures files are complete and

  • Maintains time and labor for salaried and hourly workforce

  • Maintains HRIS employee database and data integrity

  • Acts as a point of contact to management and staff in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures through both day to day contact and by providing training and development such as New Hire Orientation and Performance Management.

  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and routing reporting and audits. 
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans
  • Prepares reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends

  • Employee relations issues and employee complaints

  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems

  • Responds to unemployment claims

  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing

  • Maintain high level of confidentiality


Job Requirements

Human Resource Generalist

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, or A master’ degree in Human Resources management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, or Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience

  • Current knowledge and experience in HR trends, employment laws, and HR management in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated success in implementing HR programs and processes

  • Successful ability in public speaking and training large groups

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and Internet

  • Demonstrated leadership and customer focus skills
