TRANSPORTATION INSIGHT – STAFF ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY


The Staff Accountant performs a variety of general accounting tasks such as analyzing financial information and preparing financial report to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Daily/Weekly Duties:
    • Daily Cash Management
      • Cash Reconciliations
    • Assist with various projects and analyses as needed
      • Client Invoicing
  • Monthly Duties:
    • Month-End Closing
      • International
      • Prepare and post journal entries
      • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
      • Prepare Financial Package
    • Departmental Metrics
    • D&B Score Audit
    • Prepare Sales and Use Tax Returns
    • Government Surveys
    • Assist with State Nexus issues/surveys
    • Direct Costs for Commissions
  • Year-End Duties:
    • Assist with preparation of audit work papers
    • Assist with Annual Planning Process
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Fixed Assets
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform this job. Must be detailed oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic and accuracy is imperative. Must be able to manage the prioritization of a very large number of projects occurring simultaneously. Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships both inside and outside the organization.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 3 to 5 years related experience required.
