Title: Java Web Developer

Location: Irving-TX
Duration: 1 Year Contract
The Java Web Developer will design, implement, and support the analytics and visualization UI and server-side business logic for the next generation of platforms and services for the GSOC. 
Responsibilities include:
Create a rich UI for search, reporting, visualization
Participate in design and development of web-based Java platforms and services to process, store, and serve large volumes of data at scale
Create complex visualizations that provide views into large volumes of data
Write custom javascript/HTML/CSS
Use modern frameworks including React and visualization libraries including D3.js
Work closely with other front-end web and database/big data developers
Analyze business requirements for complex projects
Develop proof of concepts of new technologies and evaluate the state of the art in web and server-side technologies
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to explain and document ideas
Required skills:
Expertise with a JVM-based language
Experience with web frameworks(Spring, Grails, Play, other)
Javascript expertise
Experience with modern javascript frameworks and ecosystem(e.g.
Node.js and SPA frameworks like React).
Strong understanding of HTTP
Writing and consuming REST APIs
Excellent troubleshooting and bug-hunting expertise
Web performance testing
Expertise with RDBMS including one of mysql, postgres, MS SQL, or Oracle
Version control with git or subversion
Experience with best practices in software development including agile methods, code review, unit/functional/integration testing, continuous integration/deployment
Expertise with Linux
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Desired skills:
Data visualization
Hadoop ecosystem
Statistics or machine-learning
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
The regular schedule is weekday business hours but irregular hours may be required in response to important projects or operational emergencies.

This position will require 24/7 on-call readiness
