Area Sales Manager

Summary of the Job:

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager with a proven track record of success selling technology, software & services, into enterprise accounts. This leader must have strong B2B SaaS Enterprise sales and management experience. We are looking for an exceptional leader who has previous experience building, transforming and managing successful sales teams. This person will iterate and build upon our current SaaS sales strategy while providing definition and implementation of the plan to exceed sales objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven understanding of selling disruptive, habit changing software into mid and large HR and TA customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop a sales team, manage sales campaigns and successfully execute a revenue plan
  • Day-to-day management of high level sales reps, including responsibility for performance management, recruitment, development and training
  • Drive rigorous sales development execution and oversight, and KPI management including forecasting, pipeline management and go-to-market strategies
  • Define sales processes that drive desired outcomes and identify improvements where and when applicable
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, R&D, Marketing and other internal partners to grow pipeline, increase saturation and execute plans for new geographies, products and market segments
  • Act as a player-coach, including assisting with high-level closes and multi-million dollar contract negotiations
  • Engage personal networks and utilize networking programs to develop sales opportunities and prospect areas for growth
  • Design and develop sales materials, pitch instruments and decks
  • Manipulate internal and external usage data in order to provide proof of ROI to high-level clientele
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to sales and pipeline management via programs such as Salesforce and Salesloft
  • Support and encourage the company’s mission and values
  • Assist in company-wide hiring and training initiatives, including new-hire orientations and ongoing trainings:

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years’ technology or software sales experience minimum
  • 5+ years’ sales leadership experience minimum
  • Experience negotiating 7 figure enterprise contracts
  • Experience selling into Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 accounts
  • Successful experience managing a team of 10+ salespeople including independent sales representatives
  • Professional sales management experience that will enable ability to successfully recruit, coach, and retain high quality sales representatives, managers and directors
  • Demonstrated ability to coach sales representatives to higher performance
  • Ability to manage in high-tension driven situations
  • Proven consultative sales skills with the ability to articulate a clear, concise value proposition, benefits and return on investment
  • A proven ability to identify sales opportunities unlocking multiple product opportunities and professional services opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to network  and develop on-going professional relationships with customers
  • Innate ability to engage, support, and service customers.
  • Creative problem solving and expert level analytical skills
  • Ability to adjust on the fly to new demands; strong sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and inspire passion around company and products

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has supervisory responsibilities of 8-12+ direct reports.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communication or Marketing Preferred

*CareerBuilder employees are currently remote. We do have offices based in Chicago and Atlanta. When it is safe to return to the office, you will have the ability to continue to be remote or utilize the Chicago or Atlanta offices as determined by your manager.
