Accounting Manager

Summary

Responsiblefor management of the Swine Group Accounting group, including the collection,organization, summarization, and reconciliation of data associated with swinetransactions and the related grower payables. Includes the following duties:

  • Review and make decisions regarding processes and procedures using appropriate accounting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various production and accounting personnel to identify best practices and improve reporting.
  • Manage and maintain system setups and control processes.
  • Effective preparation, maintenance and reporting of financial data.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • Management of preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Manage deadlines from departments on data requirements.
  • Report and research data for management.
  • Supervise and motive accounting team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EducationRequirements/Experience Requirements:

  • Four-yearcollege degree with an emphasis of studies in Accounting or Finance or atwo-year college degree with a minimum of five years related experience.

  • MBAor CPA preferred.

  • Abilityto operate personal computer equipment with Microsoft software applications.

  • Abilityto work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statisticalinference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios,and proportions to practical situations.

  • Abilityto solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Abilityto read and interpret documents such as safety rules, accounting policies, andprocedure manuals.  Ability to prepareroutine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
