UPS Procurement is undergoing enterprise-wide transformation and is seeking a motivated and experienced Source to Pay Policy and Planning Manager to execute changes in Source to Pay tools, policy, and process. This transformative process is a multi-year effort that needs an experienced, self-directed manager to help achieve our organizational goals. The Source to Pay Policy and Planning Manager plays a vital role in Procurement's operational strategy by soliciting and contributing relevant knowledge of UPS procurement activities and business needs. Success in this role will depend heavily on the ability to establish and maintain credibility cross functionally, demonstrate credible knowledge of specific business processes in the field of Purchased Transportation, and achieve work through others with and without direct authority over them. This position will involve project management and consistent, meaningful communication with the project team, IT contributors, and UPS leadership including identifying potential risks and adjusting the project plan to meet project time and budgetary goals. This role may manage others within the department.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages Source to Pay projects
  • Implements process improvements
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders globally
  • Builds and maintains strong professional relationships
  • Contributes Transportation industry-relevant best practices
  • Develops and implements Source to Pay policy
  • Influences strategy and communicates results to leadership
  • Manages and develops others

Knowledge and Skills

  • Cross-functional team building
  • Process improvement and implementation experience
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Experience managing teams and/or people
  • Source to Pay Systems use and implementation
  • Availability to travel up to 25% (possibly international)
  • 4+ years total work experience in Plant Engineering and Capital Projects Management
  • 4+ years total work experience in Source to Pay Operations, Information Systems or analytical roles
  • MBA (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
