Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a full time HR Business Partner for the Workforce Experience Department at Overlook Medical Center in Summit NJ.

The HR Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to Overlook Medical Center within the Atlantic Health System. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company

  • Consult and advise leaders in developing and delivering a holistic HR strategy.

  • Based on formal organizational assessment, develop and implement HR plan that includes organizational and talent initiatives, including workforce plans that enables the business to achieve short- and long-term business objectives.

  • Coach leaders and people managers in conducting formal talent reviews and development that drives the assessment and development of strong talent capabilities for all level of positions.

  • Drive and lead the organizations organizational change and communication plan; advise and facilitate change management initiatives.

  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement

  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment

  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement; Demonstrated experience driving processes improvements and specific skills in Kotters Change methodologies preferred

  • Strong project management skills; ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, and then drive execution and achievement of the right results

  • Success in creating and driving effective employee relations, retention and reward programs

  • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"

  • A strong solutions focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions

  • Strong internal and external customer service focus

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Shift flexibility is critical in our environment, to meet the needs of our 24/7 environment.

  • Provide insight and practical advice based on intimate knowledge of local employment law and its practical application supporting a rapidly changing business.

  • Handle employee relations at all levels, including understanding of local employment laws.

  • Coach managers and employees on HR processes and systems; conduct formal training.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in HRM preferred)

    Experience:

  • 2-3 years of HR generalist work experience

  • Strong evidence of stretch assignments that are evidence of superior performance in previous roles

  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports and leading HR teams with talented HR professionals

  • Prior experience supporting large hourly employee client groups.

    Licenses/Certifications:

  • HR certification (i.e., CCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred

    Skills and Knowledge:

  • The ideal candidate for this position will be, first and foremost, focused on supporting business goals.

  • The individual will be pragmatic and very hands-on in operations and contribute to the operational plans of the business by enabling human capital solutions that reinforce driving business performance.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong human resources generalist background over several years with the ability to provide expertise in a wide range of HR products and services.

  • In addition, he/she should be capable of personally providing change management expertise and solutions.

  • The ideal candidate will also have the personal qualities and professional experience necessary to quickly gain credibility with all levels of the organization.

  • Finally, the ideal candidate must be able to operate effectively and navigate through this environment of rapid change in our competitive healthcare ecosystem and our business strategy.
