ECS is seeking a Marketing Content Lead and Writer to work Remote.

Job Description:
As the lead marketing writer and strategist, you are responsible for writing and overseeing the scheduling and production of content in support of marketing campaigns and initiatives. You and your team of writers are responsible for marketing copy for blogs, eBooks, websites, press releases, webinars, social media, digital ads, email campaigns, video scripts, and more. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team led by the VP of Marketing and Communications, you will apply your writing, editing, research, and interviewing skills to gather, organize, formulate, and present content tailored to audiences ranging from technical engineers to executives. In your role, you will work with division heads to market their solutions for cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud, software development, and enterprise solutions.
The marketing team is made up of hard-working and talented marketers who are there to support you and collaborate. We have many communication tools that have allowed us to telework during the pandemic successfully. Currently, our team works remotely and is dispersed across the east coast. For those in the DC metro area, we have our office in Fairfax, VA, where we hold team events and gatherings based on the latest safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the content publishing calendar along with other team leads
  • Manage the content team—made up of one full-time writer and two part-time writers—to route tasks and deliver content pieces on schedule.
  • Write marketing content for blogs, eBooks, websites, press releases, webinars, social media, digital ads, email campaigns, video scripts, and more
  • Initiate full-funnel content strategies and see them through—from ideation and development to testing and launch
  • Collaborate with the campaign team to plan and launch marketing campaigns
  • Set benchmarks, analyze, and draw actionable insights to enhance the content team’s efforts and strategy
  • Write in the appropriate style for each communication’s purpose and persona
  • Collaborate with diverse and geographically dispersed teammates and subject matter experts

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, marketing, communications, journalism, or another relevant program
  • Advanced writing and editing skills with related experience and samples
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to give clear feedback and direction
  • Self-directed but collaborative
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to solve problems swiftly
  • Demonstrate experience in creating and publishing various content types, ad formats, and videos through samples submitted with resume
  • Capable of executing multiple initiatives concurrently in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Relentless curiosity when it comes to the latest marketing trends and marketing strategies
  • Skillful at improving clarity and readability of highly technical content
  • Mastery of grammar, punctuation, and usage
  • Aptitude for clarity, word choice, and style
  • Excellent interviewer / listener / note-taker / researcher

Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years of writing experience in business-to-business and/or business-to-government advertising, PR, or marketing communications
  • Required samples to demonstrate the ability to write clearly and accurately about technology, science, or other complex topics
