A client in Colorado Springs, CO is looking for a Network Engineer whose principal are to upgrade the telemetry network within the client's footprint for network reliability. Daily tasks include reviewing network design documents, preparing cutsheets based on current design, verifying remote access of new devices, checking router serial interfaces and perform Layer 1 troubleshooting with circuit group if required, create and apply router/switch configurations, place new equipment in-service, schedule site remediation with multiple internal groups and external vendors, submit change control requests, coordinate cutover during approved safetime maintenance window, notify user community of changes, remotely oversee migration of ASYNC and Ethernet connections with on-site field personnel, verify connectivity, decommission old equipment, and update multiple inventory systems.
- Knowledge of all Cisco routers/switches, Arista switch platform
- SME of BGP routing protocols, Cisco VSS architecture, expertise experience with Cisco Nexus equipment
- Expert level experience in MPLS/VPLS, VXLAN, VRF, GRE tunneling, RIPv2, STP, HSRP, VLAN, EtherChannel, Ethernet, ASYNC, SYNC, cable pinouts, and Layer 1 circuit testing/troubleshooting.
