.
As a member of the Company's Executive team, this position is responsible for the development of Aleron’s marketing, public relations and communications strategy and will contribute to the organizational strategic operations and approach across all regions and businesses in conjunction with company leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Vision, Strategy, and Leadership:
  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance Aleron and the associated group of companies’ brand identity and broaden awareness of its services and products in a defined market space. The plan will set out objectives for each strategic area of the department and outlines plans for achieving those objectives;
  • In consultation with the senior management team and departmental staff, develops and recommends an annual fiscal plan for the Marketing and Communications department. The plan will set out objectives, plans, and specific activities to be pursued in each area of responsibility. This plan will be developed in the context of the organization’s strategic and operating plans and will be directed at supporting the objectives established in those plans.
  • Create marketing/public relations strategy that will allow Aleron’s leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with its customers and clients;
  • Create marketing/public relations strategy that drives new business opportunities into the sales funnel for all Aleron companies;
  • Working with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external marketing and communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them;
  • Serve as a marketing and communications subject matter expert, both internally and externally;
  • Research, create and implement digital marketing strategies across Aleron’s various business lines.
  • Direct the development and execution of global marketing communications initiatives including product launches, sales collateral, tradeshows, campaigns, social site presence, company website, public relations, internal communication, regulatory communications and corporate events.
  • Establish, own and drive a strategic internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees’ and customers’ understanding, engagement and commitment with the result of an even stronger connection to the company and leads to a return on investment.
  • Ensure new communication campaigns and programs are aimed at reaching sales targets.
  • Manage brand delivery and consistency across all markets for all product lines.
  • Build and manage the corporate communications budget.
  • Actively lead, build and manage the Corporate Communications team including graphics designers, corporate communications specialists, media specialists and copy writers to produce high quality publications and materials on time and within budget.
  • Determine projects which should be completed internally and externally. Manage relationships with outside vendors as necessary.
  • Drive continual process improvements and implement best practices to manage projects efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with managers in Marketing, Business Development and Sales.
  • Be the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of the Corporate Communications group. Through personal example, establish the style and approach which meets overall company values and expectations.
  • Makes decisions relative to the selection, promotion, utilization, retention and compensation of Marketing and Communications staff.
  • Makes presentations to the Leadership Team on Marketing and Communications strategies and activities.
  • Provides strong, effective and highly visible leadership to the Marketing and Communications team in order to capitalize on the full potential of this most critical resource. Ensures that all employees are stimulated, motivated and guided to contribute fully to the realization of Aleron’s mission, vision, goals and objectives. Empowers employees to identify innovative approaches to enhance organizational performance.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual, strategic, special events calendar that ensures the efforts, resources and the staff time are utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return to the organization. Ensures all events are planned to capture the attention of the intended audience and the media.
  • Develops and implements communications and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to the public.
  • Directs market research activities in order to keep abreast of changing demographics and other relevant issues in order to evaluate marketing and communication activities and to monitor emerging issues.
  • Ensures the development of advertising and promotional plans and manages the annual advertising and promotional budget.
  • Manages the use of external resources as they pertain to the marketing and communications function (e.g. advertising agency, printers, etc.)
  • Keeps abreast of all trends in the industry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Operations/Team Development/Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Marketing and Communications Department including budgeting, planning and staff hiring and development;
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality;
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis;
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives and establish priorities;
  • Manage relationships with associated vendors and partners.
  • Job Requirements

    Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications;
  • 6 years’ experience in a senior management marketing position;
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications campaigns;
  • 3 years of comprehensive experience with SEO and web analytics;
  • 5 years’ experience in developing and implementing social media strategies.

  • Business related computer skills including knowledge with PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
  • Experience in building, mentoring, motivating and coaching a team of marketing and communications specialists;
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution;
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers;
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs;
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, and administration initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to effectively interface with senior leadership and staff.
