. Basic Function: (Purpose of Staff Position)
Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of new and legacy web sites/applications. Operate effectively within a team environment as well as independently in a leadership role. Engage with technical and non-technical staff and the volunteer community to understand problems and find solutions working across full life-cycle development.
1. Principal Duties, Functions:
Provide support to end-users inside HQ and the volunteer community with the various services and products offered by the ACM IS Department – those offered by vendors, “out-of-the-box” applications. Build application/software integrated with relational database systems, and other capabilities provided by web and client/server-based architecture.
Provide technical design, functional specifications and development effort for business applications, identify user needs, analyze options and alternatives, and evaluate functionality and integrity of applications. Utilize various diagnostic and systems architectural tools to determine requirements and design solutions. Write and maintain database queries and procedures and integrate data sources into various Web-based systems.
Manage the preparation of project plans and resource projections for all activities performed within the framework of a given project. This includes defining project scope as well as preparing work plans for the project.
Lead in the development and maintenance of web sites and UIs of applications – such as: blogs, forums, wikis, ACM RESTful API, vendor APIs, APIs integrating social network functionality, websites on the acm.org domain, lists, apps, etc.
Make presentations or conduct training on new or changed systems for both users and departmental
Perform other duties as assigned.

D. Selection Requirements:
• BSc. in Computer Science, IS, or IT, or in a related subject
• 7-10 years’ experience working with the following or equivalents:
•ColdFusion, PHP, JSP, Freemarker
•JSON, XML, YAML
• Additional background in the following or equivalents is a plus:
•Web Content: CSS, Bootstrap
•Content Management Systems (CMS) configuration/development:
BloomReach Experience, WordPress
•Project Tracking/Management: JIRA
