Our client for the Sr Business Development Manager is global automotive tier 1 supplier specializing in interior and exterior plastics components. This organization has over 7,000 employees globally and several offices around the world.
The Sr Business Development Manager will be tasked with hunting new business in North America with the OEMs. In addition, this individual will focus on strategy growth initiatives looking past the short-term goals.
Develop, lead, and implement a strategic business development and sales commercial strategy for existing and new business opportunities
Hunt new business
Develop a strategy and sales process with the account managers to drive growth and execution in North America with all customers, and globally with Ford, GM, FCA and other OEMs.
Conduct market research in order to development a commercial business plan on new product development
Act as the commercial and technical sales lead for Ford, GM, FCA and other OEMs globally
Identify and strategically establish potential customers for account managers
Stay abreast of industry and market trends and understand customer needs
Build and maintain key relationships with the OEM level with all functional departments, including executive level - Director/VP
Grow and develop sales staff
Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for sales team to ensure development and growth
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business/Marketing, MBA is a plus
Must have high technical aptitude and able to speak knowledgeably on technical applications
7-15 years of technical automotive sales experience with OEM customers
Proven sales track record selling custom solutions identifying customer needs and building strong customer relationships
Must have experience with interior components, systems, and modules ideally plastics or painted related
Ability to understand and identify key market trends, with strategic market development experience
Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
High energy, teamwork, and passion for development team members
Ability to lead, train, mentor, and implement best sales practices among sales team
Ability to travel domestic and globally 20-30% of the time
Competitive base salary $130,000 - $150,000, bonus 10%, car allowance, vacation, full benefits, 401K
