Company is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Vice President of Development to provide thought leadership, strategic direction, and operational management for our Interiors, Construction, Real Estate, and New Space Openings teams. Reporting directly to the Co-Founder & COO, The Vice President of Development will be a key member of the leadership team.  

The Vice President of Development must have considerable development and construction experience as well as a deep knowledge of commercial real estate and experience across a range of real estate transactions. This person will manage a high performing group of budding leaders, and will continue to build out the team to support continued business growth. This VP will have full oversight into Company’s expansion and development projects and will ultimately be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget. 

This position will require you to work incredibly collaboratively across many departments of Company organization, including Growth, Operations, Food & Beverage, Finance, Creative and others. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and own Company’s Development strategy, including the leadership and execution of that strategy in such a way to ensure alignment with Company’s financial and growth goals
  • Hire, train, develop, and manage exceptional interior design, real estate, construction and NSO teams Identify future market expansions and opportunities for non-traditional growth initiatives that will maximize long-term growth and potential
  • Leverage market analysis and consumer demographic research to inform development goals, initiatives, and timelines
  • Establish cohesive process for all new Space openings or renovations/expansions, with clear timelines and objectives; work collaboratively and proactively communicate across all internal Wing departments involved in new openings
  • Ensure all Development team members across Construction, Real Estate, and Interiors operate in alignment and towards departmental key objectives
  • Work closely with the Executive Team to build and maintain brand alignment on all development initiatives
  • Spearhead revitalization initiatives with a structured process to support each location achieving targeted results based on revitalization investment
  • Improve construction management function and process to enhance efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage the budgeting process for new space design and construction, existing space renovations, and cost-effective methods

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of successful management experience in a development or real estate team within a rapidly scaling organization. A career track that includes broad exposure in areas of strategic development, real estate, asset and facilities management, construction, architecture and design, and finance
  • A successful track record in strategic development and business expansion as well as an industry reputation for outstanding team leadership through periods of extensive expansion, change, and growth
  • Advanced analytical, negotiation, and deal-making skills with proven results
  • Expert in development best practices, productivity, and strategy design
  • Effortless ability to multitask while balancing the interest of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to recognize issues in early stages, develop preventive measures and workable alternative solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills to senior leadership. Specifically cross-departmentally
  • Demonstrated team leadership and management in such a way to achieve optimal team results
  • Belief in and passion for Company’s mission
  • Strong interior architectural capabilities, construction methodologies, and proven track record delivering high-end commercial, retail, or hospitality interiors
  • The maturity to embrace ambiguity and ability to adapt according to the market and continuing innovation of Company
  • Working knowledge of social clubs, co-working spaces, restaurants, or hotels is a plus
