In need of a solid Data Architect with data modeling, data processes, ETL and experience with cloud solutions.

Job Summary
Designs and develops architecture that complies with Enterprise architecture guidelines and standards. Works on projects as a team member to design, model, develop and support the application database management systems that are created and maintained within the Enterprise Information Management Department. Experience in enterprise application and information data architecture design. Experience working in an Agile development environment and has a solid understanding of SDLC. This role requires effective communication skills with the ability to present to executive level audiences. Use skills to participate in the design, development, and implementation of architectural deliverables. Contribute to the development and maintenance of data applications including the data, software, and infrastructure architectures.

Job Responsibilities
Analysis and design on the enterprise data model, including domain data models, MDM, data lakes, and modeling for various operational requirements.
Architect data flows into and out of enterprise boundaries and model intermediate data flows within the enterprise applications.
Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries and database schema(s). Analyzes complex data systems and documents data elements, data flow, relationships, and dependencies. Compiles detailed reports of analysis.
Designs, develops, maintains and certifies database schema designs that meet enterprise-level information architectures requirements and business strategy.
Develop Data models that consider the performance and scalability needs for data storage and analysis/persistence layer optimization for all applications.
Participate in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables, including components of the assessment, optimization of system design, and review of user requirements.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of data applications including the data, software, and infrastructure architectures.
Provides strategic thinking while driving architectural recommendations.
Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments. Creates logical and physical models of data flow.
Gathers, analyzes and normalizes information relevant to business processes, functions and operations. Determines data credibility, relevance and meaning.
Develops automated and reusable scripts for handling data.
Performs ad hoc query requests (audit, business, etc.).

Systems and Technical Knowledge
Insurance background i.e. Life Insurance and / or other insurance related products.
Understanding of big data technologies: Data Lake and Big Data modeling experience.
Database and application development experience in relational databases and cloud technologies.
Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, Data Modeling for Big Data & Metadata Management.
Working knowledge of data security frameworks, data quality frameworks, metadata management and data catalogs, and data governance frameworks.
Senior skill level with data systems and database methodology, design and modeling.
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education: BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Experience: 5-10 years related work experience in the design and development of database management systems or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Location: Home Office, main building

Work Schedule: M-F, 8 am – 4:30 pm

Report to the Senior Director of Enterprise Information Management.
