Sr Internal Auditor

Position Summary

This position reports to the Internal Audit Manager and is primarily responsible for planning and performing audits and projects to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of key financial and operational controls / processes, serving as a business partner to management by communicating actionable, valued-added solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Internal Audit (IA) Manager with the development and execution of the annual risk-based Audit Plan, including the following:

    • Testing key Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR)

    • Operational and compliance audits and ad-hoc special projects

    • Consultative assistance
    • External auditor assistance / coordination

  • People management
    • Supervise, Internal Audit (IA) staff and interns, and project-based external consultants as applicable

    • Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across Rexnord platforms and functions

  • Project management / performance
    • Perform the scoping / planning, fieldwork, post-fieldwork and reporting for audits and projects

    • Prepare and review work papers that clearly support audit conclusions

    • Document process narrative descriptions, flowcharts, and other internal control analyses

    • Perform data analytics utilizing data extraction / analysis tools, including IDEA software

  • Assess control and process risk and materiality

  • Identify and implement improvement of Internal Audit processes and approach

  • Familiarity with SAP and data analytics technology a plus

Experience and Skill Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in public accounting and/or internal audit, preferably in a global manufacturing environment

  • Big 4 or public company experience preferred

  • Preferred Certifications: CPA or CIA

  • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with a general understanding of data analysis techniques

  • Desire to travel 25 to 30% (including international)
