Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineers at multiple grade levels to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. These individuals will report to the Director of Space Systems Sector Modeling and Simulation within the Chief Technology Office and will be located in Dulles, VA. Remote operation from a different major Northrop Grumman facility with travel to Dulles, VA approximately one week per month will be considered.
Job description: As a sector-level mission analysis engineer, you will lead modeling, simulation, and analysis studies across multi-domain mission threads, company kill-chain initiatives, and future concept architectures. These mission engineering studies will address the customers' complex threat and mission environments, and you will develop and integrate system simulation frameworks, performance models, and algorithms to perform system-of-system trades and assess architecture alternatives for delivering an effect, data, or capability within a broader campaign. You will work with a cross-functional team on unusually complex technical problems and construct analyses contributing to solutions which are highly innovative.
Essential functions include:
* Performing analysis-of-alternatives and synthesizing mission elements to lead to a cohesive mission solution.
* Ability to identify and execute relevant MS&A studies to address the pacing INDOPACOM and EUCOM scenarios
* MS&A integration across the five divisions within Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector
* Providing strategic guidance and direction on required MS&A capabilities and study approaches to assess desired warfighting mission effects and gaps, acting as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications
* Collaboration with counterparts in sector strategy, division, and program teams
* Engaging, briefing, and influencing company and customer executive leaders and organizations

Basic Qualifications:
* Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with noted years of experience in aerospace, defense, or related professional industry:
* Consulting Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 18+ years of experience
* Sr Staff Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 16+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 14+ years of experience
* Staff Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 12+ years of experience
* Sr Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 7+ years of experience
* Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
* Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance (with background investigation within prior 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
* Analytic modeling, simulation, and operations analysis experience across payloads, platforms, and military or intelligence community missions
* Proficiency with at least two of the following programming/data analysis languages:
* MATLAB
* Python
* C/C++
* Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) accesses
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to convey complex modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) topics, approaches, and results to internal and external senior-level customers in a compelling and understandable manner
* Proficiency in the following areas as they apply to MS&A concepts, techniques, and approaches:
* AFSIM scripting and plugin development
* Data analytics
* Design of experiments
* Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
* High performance computing
* Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
* Containerization
* Dev*Ops: collaboration, continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) pipelines; tools; infrastructure; and configurations
* Experience working multi-domain and system of systems initiatives and in-depth understanding of USG strategies to closing kill chains
* In-depth knowledge and experience engaging with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC)
* In-depth knowledge of U.S. Government and Allied products and systems, missions, and operations
* Current Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) accesses
Salary Range: $173,300.00 - $259,900.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
