AEGIS Systems Engineer

Work will be within the IWS 1SE branch of the AWS program office (PEO IWS 1.0) Support the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Area Manager (WAM) in all aspects of AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) Systems Engineering (SE) disciplines from concept development, T&E, to sustainment, with an emphasis on the interfaces between AWS and other elements of the AEGIS Combat System (ACS).  This work will be applied to all AEGIS baselines, with most time spent on BLs 9 and 10, which will involve integration with the Air and Missile Defense Radar being developed by PEO IWS 2.0.   Conduct cost estimates, activity (e.g., Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division) task planning, test plans, requirements analysis, and other SE tasks.  Work with prime vendors (e.g. Lockheed Martin) and labs (e.g. APL/JHU) to support development efforts. 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five  years or more experience; Masters and three  years or more experience; PhD and 0  years related experience.


Engineer who has a basic understanding of how the AWS fire control loop works, some knowledge of the AN/SPY-1 radar, Command & Decision (C&D),  Weapons Control System (WCS) and has a basic understanding of AAW/IAMD combat system elements. (i.e., Vertical Launching System (VLS), Standard Missile, Electronic Warfare Systems, Close in Weapon System (CIWS), ESSM)

Desired experience:

Computer networks, cybersecurity, data architectures.

Navy Chief Warrant Officer or LDO with Fire control background.

Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM)

AEGIS Systems Test Officer

Candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret security clearance as a condition of employment
