The Test Engineer is a member of the project systems and software agile development team. The Test Engineer will require supporting teams in Agile methodologies. The Test Engineer will be assigned to various projects as need and opportunity arises in support of Development & Sustainment Support effort for the Sea Warrior Program Office (PMW 250).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish methods and techniques, planning tests, develop test requirements, writing Integration & Test (I&T) procedures and reports, and conducting tests events
  • Plan and perform I&T assignments involving definition of test and verification requirements, I&T plans and sequences
  • Attend technical interchange meetings with the team members and other program personnel and represent the organization in matters pertaining to the development of their projects
  • Work closely with other project team members and represent the test group in project meetings
  • Work closely with Solutions and Software Engineers to develop and execute robust testing strategies against new and existing applications
  • Author and execute of test cases as well as performing the development and maintenance of automated test scripts
  • Author test plans and test reports
  • Support Unit, Integration, Regression, and System Testing
  • Support Helpdesk tasks when needed by providing technical assistant and incoming queries from customer
  • Contribute to improving customer support by actively responding to queries and handling issues
  • Follow up with customers to identify areas of improvement on periodic basis
  • Review incidents and escalations for timeliness and quality and take corrective action where appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred
  • 5 years’ experience supporting test events for software applications
  • 5 years of military experience in Navy Safety and Occupational Health field preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Agile-Scrum required
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Secret Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Experience developing test cases based on both system requirements and concepts of operations
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Experience with creating accounts, distribution list and troubleshooting user permissions in Exchange/Active Director
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Ability to travel
