Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for two Administrative Assistant 3 - Clerkship Coordinators for the School of Medicine. These positions will coordinate clinical educational medical student experiences in one or multiple specialties throughout multiple medical settings in northern Nevada, northeastern California, and other rural settings across the country. These positions will also provide support to directors, students, and faculty in the coordination of these programs. Synthesize information and provide operational-level analysis to leadership about program administration. Under general supervision in conjunction with the Clerkship Director, the coordinators are responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations for clerkships. The coordinator's will provide oversight of medical students throughout their training experience, acting as liaison between residents, providers and medical students.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with program administration experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with scheduling experience are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $17.80/hr - Step 04 $20.11/hr)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
