This Freelance Assistant Designer position is for a well-established fashion apparel company that has collections for both men and women. This company is looking for a Freelance Assistant Designer to join their team to and directly support the head designers and gain experience at a mass market company.

Salary/Rate: DOE

Position Overview: The Freelance Assistant Designer will be directly supporting the Design Team, assisting with their daily needs. The Freelance Assistant Designer will be creating CAD’s from hand sketches, cutting trims and creating color cards. They will be working on line sheets, and conducting research on trends to assist with the upcoming season. This role requires someone who is excellent on Adobe Illustrator, and is very detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and accurate.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Assistant Designer:

• Support the design team
• Conduct trend research
• Cut fabrics and create color cards
• Assist with trend research and mood boards
• Prepare linesheets
• Review lab dips
• Enter data into PLM
• Sketch in illustrator

Qualifications for the Freelance Assistant Designer:

• Candidate must be a team player, organized and detail-oriented
• Extreme knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Microsoft Word and Excel is a must
• Familiar with PLM
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Works well in a fast-paced environment

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in fashion or art
