Echo Technical Lead
Job Description
Will report to the manager of Echo and EKG. Responsible for quality, education and accreditation for Echo department.
Job Summary:
- Under the immediate direction of the Manager, Cardiac Services provides leadership and guidance for the delivery of echocardiography services through optimal utilization of technical and human resources.
- Responsible for activities such as ; Provides shift oversight and is a resource to staff for patient care operations; Performs essential functions of cardiac sonographer staff; Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines; an Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for compliance with overall echocardiography standards in area of responsibility.
- Uses established principles of delegation and supervision related to cardiac sonographer tasks.
- Oversees the activities of all staff in the delivery of echocardiograms during their assigned shift.
- Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of services and appropriate use of available resources.
- Functions as a clinical resource to staff, maintains a unit-wide perspective of echocardiography requirements and participates actively in unit operations and related decision making.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Current registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDCS), or by the Cardiology Credentialing Service (RCS).
- Current CPR (Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation).
- Three years of progressively more responsible experience providing all types of echograms.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as utilization of all related equipment and applicable regulations.
- Requires strong working knowledge of the normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comforts and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including neonate, child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patient served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and organizational skills in order to supervise unit technical and human resources to assure compliance with established goal and objectives.
- Requires leadership, group cohesion and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers, as needed
