Our client a private equity real estate owner and operator with over $3 billion in assets under management comprising 8 million square feet of premier Class-A office space and industrial assets located throughout the US. The tenant portfolio includes global companies such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, Netflix, T-Mobile, and Nvidia among others. Due to its proven track record with its investors, the company is currently launching its first fund which will expand its holdings of industrial triple-net leased distribution centers.

Accounting Senior Role:

This new role in the Century City corporate office was created as a direct product of the continued growth of the company and its real estate portfolio. The Accounting Senior will report directly to the Accounting Manager and have exposure to several elements of the company outside of the 'traditional month end close process' including the corporate budget process, treasury functions, investor reporting, and lender reporting. All property accounting is completed by third-party property managers and the Accounting Senior will have some interaction with these teams from time to time. The candidate should be comfortable with entrepreneurial, fast paced, and team-oriented culture and have the ability to work independently. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete the monthly corporate financial reporting package, including:
    • Monitoring and collection of all fee income
    • Closing of the accounting records in Yardi
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Intercompany allocations
    • Budget to actual comparison
  • Prepare and update quarterly corporate budgets
  • First point of contact with Preylock's bank, including all bank account maintenance
  • Maintain wire templates and set-up wires for payments or distributions to investors
  • Prepare quarterly investor distributions analysis, including key performance metrics
  • Manage and update investor reporting platform (Juniper Square)
  • Assist with year-end audits of financial statements and related investor / lender reporting

Additional Projects:

  • The company is a very active and is experiencing strong growth - there will be opportunities to interact with and support other teams outside of the accounting department. Some examples include:
    • Review of potential tenants' financial statements for credit worthiness
    • Research of property taxes in new jurisdictions of acquisitions
    • Onboarding of new investors' reporting requirements and wire instructions
  • Prepare responses to ad-hoc (or recurring) inquiries from investors
  • Prepare responses to lender inquires

Requirements:

  • Highly organized and analytical individual with an ability to think creatively
  • Strong communications skills
  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics
  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in corporate and / or real estate accounting
  • Yardi experience preferred
