Accountemps is looking for an efficient, accurate Entry Level Staff Accountant to fill a position at a growing Mental Health organization. Based in the Culver City, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity where effort is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you'll also be charged with various aspects of internal reporting. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes. Your responsibilities in this role - Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision - Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management - Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested - Maintain monthly payment schedules - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll If you are interested please submit your resume to: Email blocked - click to apply
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases - Detailed and have the ability work independently - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Skilled with ERP systems - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Knowledge of general ledger - Bank reconciliations experience - Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience desired
