Director of Supply Chain Operations
The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for screening and selecting reliable sources of supplies, capital equipment, rentals and supervising all purchasing functions. Manages central supply department from both a staff and operational stand point as well as keeping the department supplied. Establishes and implements purchasing policies and procedures. Negotiates purchasing contracts and supervises scheduling and expediting of deliveries. Functions as a key member of hospital staff on buying group contracts (bulk delivery and just in time inventory principles). Supervises control on receipt and acknowledgement of supplies, maintaining the storeroom functions, and maintaining expense control. Manages budgets for reporting expenses and income (revenue) for the Purchasing, Central Supply, Mail Room and Transportation departments. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. Creates an environment of service excellence in the department.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University with courses in purchasing/materials management, business or in related field required
Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in purchasing/materials management required
Minimum 3 years leadership experience purchasing/materials management required, acute care experience preferred
Current California Driver’s License required
