Human Resources Associate II

University of Maryland Center for Environmental Sciences,

Horn Point Laboratory, Cambridge, MD

Position Summary

  • Under general supervision, this position is the initial and primary resource person for all major areas of Human Resources and Payroll functions for approximately 115 employees.
  • Assists with providing procurement and travel related support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Four years' experience required, three of which must be involved with Human Resources.
  • The selected candidate must have knowledge of and experience in payroll and or human resources information systems.
  • Must have a commitment to service and possess the ability to communicate effectively with a large, diverse employee population.
  • Will have demonstrated ability and experience with software applications such as MS Office Suite, Adobe, and/or job application portals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience preferably in a University or government setting involving the application of human resources and or payroll policies and procedures.
