Project Manager - Outside plant

JOB SUMMARY
Based in the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area, the Project Manager will manage Telecommunications
outside plant fiber, Coax construction, and rebuild projects. The position will drive project budgets,
deadlines and ensure the safety and quality of work. The Project manager will need to be onsite.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Manage aerial, underground, and splicing crews to make sure all aspects are handled according
to customer and Industry specifications.
 Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to facilitate project completion.
 Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements.
 Use software programs to manage design prints, daily reports, and job close out procedures
Perform site inspections for quality control.
 Reconcile submitted invoices to work completed in the field.
 Conduct on-site job training and safety training to help build a strong work force.
 Will be the face of the company when interacting with the customer and will always strive for
excellent service Communicate with Manager or designated delegate to provide updates about
construction progress.
 Review and process damage claims.
 Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
 Will act in a professional manner, with honesty and integrity. This person will have a strong
presence among their crew members and should lead everyone to excellence.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
 High School Diploma or equivalent work experience, Associates degree in electronics or related
field, or equivalent experience
 Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)
 5+ years Telecommunications construction experience
 2+ years Leadership experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 The Project Manager will have knowledge of Fiber/Coax aerial, underground and MDU plant
construction.
 Lives in the ST. Louis metropolitan area or is willing to relocate.
 Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, pole transfers, vertical grounds, and building
and repairing aerial telecommunication transmission lines.
 Ability to lift or pull up to seventy-five pounds
 Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees,
customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear,
straightforward, and professional manner.

 Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
 Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to supervise and motivate others and work
independently
 Use personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel)
 Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time
 Able to legally work in the United States
 Valid drivers license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
 Work environment primarily office and field:
o but may work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night.
o near power lines and electricity
o work indoors in confined space, poorly ventilated areas such as attics, basements,
crawlspaces and/or utility access holes
o Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions
