The Opportunity

The Relationship Manager, Direct Writers and Agencies is a key role within the Haven Life Distribution organization. In this role you will demonstrate your skill as a stakeholder manager to Haven Lifes growing list of Agency & Direct Writer Partners, as well as a dedication to being inclusive, a strong business acumen, high-level communication skills, resilience and self-awareness. This role will exist within the Distribution team and will report directly to the Head of Relationship Management at Haven Life.

The Impact

The Relationship Manager, Direct Writers and Agencies will be the main point of contact for Haven Lifes growing list of partner stakeholders. The RM will have a deep understanding of the strategic priorities, initiative and goals being driven from the Haven Life Distribution team, and will be adept at communicating and translating those goals to our roster of partnerships. The RM will drive business and adoption of our platform by maintaining close relationships with our distribution network, creating win-win outcomes and by supporting changes, and understanding issues and concerns being shared by our partner firms.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively involved in continuing to grow our footprint in the distribution of insurance products through agency partners, and direct writers

  • Be the primary stakeholder to key partnership accounts in the insurance agency and direct marketer/writer space

  • Balance client/project responsibilities with business development and sales responsibilities including identifying, qualifying and closing new business opportunities

  • Work with partner stakeholders to create individual business plans that enable growth and adoption of new tools and products throughout the course of the long-term partnership

  • Support the Distribution team though; managing partnership needs, removing impediments that prevent project progress, mediating through conflicts, and negotiating win-win outcomes

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, and 5+ years of experience in relationship management, account management, partnerships or sales

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Ability to work well with others both across the partnership isle as well as internally

  • Help others succeed by modeling professional behavior, supporting a culture of collaboration and inclusion, while staying humble

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

  • History of successfully getting things done, via execution and clear ownership of managing relationships, and business accounts

  • This position is based out of our Manhattan office or can be remote with the ability to report to our Manhattan office once a week. This role will also require 15% travel within the continental US to attend business functions such as industry conferences, partner business reviews and training/onboarding with key partners

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Financial Services or Insurance Sales Experience, especially background as an Agent, Case Manager, or Sales Manager in an insurance services environment

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • Strong project management skills including conceptualization; analysis; drivingalignment; planning resources; managing milestones and objectives, and Agile practices

  • Entrepreneurial minded and driven self-starter with extensive experience in anagile/adaptable environment and demonstrated success influencing stakeholders who dont have a direct reporting relationship and leading through ambiguity.

  • Relevant experience in working for (or with) a consumer start-up preferred, not required.



Compensation Range:

$105,000- $120,000 plus Annual Bonus
