Job Description

Lehigh Technical & Professional Service is a leading staffing agency dating back to the 1950's. We specialize in temporary and direct placement positions in the fields of: IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting and Administrative. We are currently partnering with a leading automated machinery manufacturer in their pursuit to hire an additional Sales Engineer.

Sales Engineer - Remote Office East Coast territory - Base plus commission


Summary:
Develops and maintains a program for securing maximum sales for company. Sells assigned product lines, supplies or services within assigned territory by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
' Compiles lists of prospective, new and existing customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. Continually evaluates and updates data.
' Prepares and submits a territory (account) sales plan.
' Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone. Spends a minimum of 4 days per week with customers.
' Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Recommends specific standard or modified machine best suited for customer's use.
' Develops effective solutions to customers' technical requirements in coordination with the customer and Applications and Engineering Departments.
' Provides or arranges for technical support, training and consultant services to customer as needed.
' Conducts and promotes sales seminars and training schools.
' Generates standard quotations.
' Executes arrangements for participation in industry trade shows, exhibits and professional associations.
' Keeps abreast of industry, competition, and internal products and technology.
' Makes recommendations to the company for product modifications and innovations.
' Advises product managers with regard to marketing plans and programs for assigned territories.
' Maintains communications with, and supervises manufacturers' representatives' activities in assigned territories.
' Submits bi-weekly activity planner and expense reports as appropriate.
' Maintains ACT database and reviews/updates customer data regularly.
' Submits rolling 12-month forecast on monthly basis.
' Maintains company vehicle in good condition.
' Controls costs and expenses of travel, telephone and entertainment through good sales planning, territory management and judicious discretion.
' Communicates daily with home office regarding order status and personal whereabouts.
