Job Description

Position Overview
The Manager of Technical Accounting ensures that reports, filings and documentation complies with company’s regulations, professional standards, and GAAP reporting guidelines. They will work closely with external auditors to provide requested information, will ensure proper accounting of all acquisitions, and assist with any related accounting integration and preparation of external financial statements.

Essential Job Functions
Prepare drafts technical accounting memorandums and schedules addressing complex areas of the Company’s operations as need arises, for review for the Director. These memorandums must be delivered timely and in a format easily consumable by external auditors. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:Lead implementation of ASC 606
Lead implementation of ASC 842
Business combinations memos for all acquisitions
Share-based compensation for all awards
Debt modification

Effectively communicate with corporate accounting so that the content of technical memos is understood and implemented in the books and records from an accounting operations perspective.
Assist with the annual impairment analysis, interactions with external valuation firms and external audit specialists, through preparation of the annual impairment memo to be reviewed and approved by Director and the external auditors.
Serve as the primary interface with the external auditors for all audits, including those of acquired companies. Manage auditor requests, closure of open items, and the delivery of quality audit support.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting or public/private mix
Technical accounting background
Strong technical writing skills
Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment.

Experience with M&A and integration accounting

Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
