Job Summary
As a Senior Living Medication Aide at the Good Samaritan Society, your central focus will be to ensure that residents receive the right medications at the right time in the right form. You'll be responsible for proper medication dosage, medication monitoring and appropriate medication storage.

Evenings - PT, Every other weekend only, 5-8:30 pm or 5pm-10:30 pm

  • Must already have a valid CMA license
  • CMA provides care and services; such as medication administration, healthcare services, activities of daily living assistance.
  • CMA provides the right medication to the right person at the right time in the right dose and by the right route ensuring all changes in medication are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Stores medication correctly, cleans and locks med cart or other storage system.
  • Follows all policy and procedures and documentation requirements for location.
  • CMA obtains vital signs accurately and reports changes in resident health status.
  • CMA assists residents with dressing, personal hygiene, bathing, mobility and other assistance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    What you'll do: You'll help take the lead on medication distribution, storage and disposal, and help with other daily care needs of residents. You'll follow up with residents to ensure appropriate observation and documentation of response to medications. You'll take ownership of the medication storage areas, meeting health standards at all times.

    You'll keep a watchful eye over resident health, and help as needed with transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate techniques and equipment. You'll help residents to meals and promote a positive dining experience. You'll assist as needed with personal care, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining vitals signs and offering psychosocial support.

    Qualifications
    Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job. A high school education or higher education is not required to be hired into this job. A high school diploma or GED is required for administration of medication in some states- refer to state regulations.
    Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
    Must be able to speak read and write in English and be able to articulate clearly and audibly.
