Description: Participation in the piloting and review of resources related to inclusive teacher recruitment, hiring and onboarding practices in schools.

* Pilot current Inclusive Teacher Recruitment & Hiring Initiative resources;
* Participate in monthly professional learning community sessions to support the development of inclusive recruitment, onboarding, and retention resources; and
* Implement established recruitment, onboarding, and retention resources in respective school environments.

LOCATION:

Hybrid: Selected staff will be able to conduct many of the duties remotely. In-person duties located at the New York City Department of Education, and various locations citywide, including the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality (65 Court St., Brooklyn, NY)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYCDOE Licensed and Appointed Principals & Assistant Principals

SELECTION CRITERIA:

* Passionate, reflective, and collaborative principal or AP who aims to have a positive impact on their school community
* Ability to articulate experiences as a NYC public school principal or AP in a compelling and engaging way
* Utilizes a culturally relevant and equitable lens
* Preference for experience on hiring committees or SLT's
* Currently assigned to a D31 school identified for participation
* Recommended by your current Superintendent to participate in the ITRHI PLC series

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Attend TRQ-led meetings.
* Communicate regularly, openly and collaboratively with TRQ staff in a timely way.
* Review and provide feedback on draft documents in an efficient and timely manner to meet timelines.
* Participate in focus groups that will support the development of inclusive recruitment resources to support schools
* Participation in the review of resources related to inclusive teacher recruitment, hiring and onboarding practices in schools.
* Work with others on your school team to collaboratively plan and implement resources and new approaches related to inclusive recruitment and hiring.
* Complete related activities that support pilot implementation.

Please note: If in person meetings are scheduled, appropriate COVID-19 precautions, safety measures, and protocols will be followed.

WORK SCHEDULE:

March 2023 - June 2023 (Up to 12 hours)

Days: Monday-Friday (No Federal Holidays)

Timeframe: 2:30pm - 6:00pm

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
