LOCATION: This role is hybrid (working some weekdays in-office and remaining weekdays working from home remotely). We have one job opening for the Financial Services PR team’s PR AAE role, and the position can either be based in our NYC office, Washington DC office, or Nashville Office. This is the ad for our Washington, DC office.
We’re seeking qualified metro DC area public relations candidates to join our leading industry financial services public relations department. The ideal applicant will have previous public relations agency-based financial services internship or work experience with clients in the corporate and financial services B2B and B2C sector (fintech, investing, crypto, banking, and payments); have a college degree in PR, Communications, or Journalism; have excellent writing skills; and be ready for immediate hire for this full-time position. (This is not an internship role and is not a sales role.)

Our financial services public relations team is one of the best in the industry. We seek candidates passionate about communications, ready to roll up their sleeves, and contribute to our team's success on behalf of clients. You will join a leading PR agency team working with regional, national, and international clients. This is an opportunity to work on communications campaigns for clients who are leaders in the corporate and financial services B2B and B2C sector - fintech, investing, crypto, banking, payments and more.

Responsibilities:
- Compile comprehensive, targeted media lists, actively pitch media and secure earned media coverage.
- Write, proof and edit client-related documents including pitches, press materials, news releases, and other editorial content.
- Support client media briefings, events, speaking opportunities, and developing award submissions.
- Monitor, track and report earned, owned, and social media coverage of client news and competitor developments.
- Research industry or program-relevant topics efficiently.
- Participate in client meetings, develop agendas, manage trackers, and draft meeting reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, or journalism.
- Prior work experience or PR internships in a public relations role (PR agency-based client experience is strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced through completed college coursework, internships, or related work experience.
- Interest and desire to work in public relations with corporate and financial services B2B and B2C clients.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and writing skills.
- Experience with research and measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is preferred but optional.

Anticipated Salary: $23.00/hour to $24.00/hour for this full-time, non-exempt, direct hire position. Is commensurate with experience and dependent upon the location.
