Longwood Gardens is seeking an Electrician to perform installation, repairs and preventative maintenance of electrical systems throughout the site, while adhering to established safety and electrical regulations. Position will provide hands on technical expertise for day-to-day operations and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls in a safe, cost effective manner while ensuring good housekeeping and an excellent guest experience. This position plans, organizes, orders materials, and prioritizes individual work orders assigned; performs day-to-day electrical maintenance, system checks to diagnosis problems with the operation, and repairs on various systems; performs administrative work activities; ensures a broad range of building material functions as designed with integrated components that may be historic. This is predominately a second shift position which may be subject to after-hour call out for emergency work and rotation on an operations standby roster.
High School diploma/GED and successful completion of an apprenticeship program or four years demonstrated field experience is required. Driver’s license is required; electrical license desirable. Knowledgeable of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 1910S Safety Standards, ability to read P&ID, construction as-built drawings, and building prints. This individual must have the demonstrated ability to operate the tools of the trade and to work with other trades, familiarity with email, internet and Microsoft Office products, and strong decision making, communication, analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
