Job Description

 Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager of the Operating Room, the Resource Nurse will work with all members of the healthcare team to ensure excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of patient care. The Resource Nurse will perform all functions as outlined in the policy and procedure manuals of the Department. This includes, but is not limited to: providing leadership as needed, directing patient care, making nursing / patient assignments, providing patient and family education, assisting with the orientation of new employees (acting as preceptor), participating in patient care conferences as needed, providing input towards employee evaluations, participating in Quality Improvement projects and participating in the overall smooth running of the Operating Room.

Job Requirements

  1. Current RN license to practice in California. 2. Minimum of 3 years Operating Room experience in the last 5 years. 3. Two years recent experience in the Operating Room at RRH. 4. CPR certification required and maintained thereafter. 5. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required and maintained thereafter. 6. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of employment and maintained thereafter. 7. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language. 8. Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, and co-workers. 9. Ability to provide RN leadership in a positive direction that is consistent with the policies, goals, objectives, mission and vision of the Hospital and Nursing Department. 10. Must have above or exceeds standards evaluation from RRH in past year. *CB
